Jess Shanti

(BFA Umass Amherst, Ma.)

Jess Shanti earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2001. With her concentration in Art Education, she student taught at Belchertown High School that same year where she was able to focus her efforts teaching kids how to manipulate clay. After college & with her newly earned teaching license, Jess was hired at the Granville Village School where she served as the art teacher & visual art program director for 13 years. During her years there she built a stellar reputation in the community, contributed original artwork to the walls & corridors of the school & gained priceless life experience working with the students & staff there. Jess now works at a local farm, makes & sells her unique tie dye art, plays with clay at Forest & Sky Studio in Southwick & prioritizes being the best mom she possibly can be. She lives in Southwick, Massachusetts with her husband, their ten year old daughter & their cats & hens.
